Jay Kuhns is a human resources executive, leadership coach, speaker, consultant and is the author of Unstoppable Power, Leverage Energy, Risk and Relationships and Advance Your Leadership Career.

For more than twenty-five years Jay’s progressive leadership approach has propelled him to executive positions with the Johns Hopkins Health System, HCA, and several consulting firms. His leadership blog NoExcusesHR, which he has written for more than a decade, has consistently been recognized for its high accountability focus on leadership.

Jay lives in Tampa, Florida where he volunteers on the Board of the Children’s Cancer Center and in various leadership positions at Hyde Park United Methodist Church. In his free time, he enjoys every minute with his family, friends and cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Jay Kuhns is a seasoned human resources executive, consultant, leadership coach and author who has served both for-profit and not-for-profit health systems, including HCA, Johns Hopkins, and United Health Services Hospitals in senior executive roles. Additionally, he led the national healthcare practice at Kinetix, a recruitment process outsourcing and human resources strategy firm; and the strategic planning team at People Results, formerly IRI Consultants, the largest human resources consultancy in the employee and labor relations space in the United States.

Jay is deeply committed to coaching leaders to not only be their absolute best, but to take their careers to the highest level. A philosophy he has followed throughout his career. Jay’s experience spans the continuum of human resources disciplines, as well as strategic consulting and business development. Further, he has extensive skills in speaking, social media, digital communications, and employer branding.
